The differential switch is used to cut off the current in the event of accidental contact and thus protects people from the risk of electrocution.

Located between the main circuit breaker and the branch circuit breakers, the differential switch compares the incoming current to the outgoing current and immediately detects if a leak occurs on the circuit it monitors.

Unlike the differential circuit breaker, the differential switch does not detect overloads and short circuits.

Positioned at the head of the row, the number of differential switches depends on the size of the electrical installation in accordance with standard NF C 15-100.

ID type B residual current devices are designed for three-phase applications, when class 1 equipment installed downstream of the ID residual current device is likely to produce DC fault currents.

It is recommended for Hybrid Inverters.
